Occupational Safety and Health Bill passage expected by year end

Lawyer accuses police witness of lying

THE defence attorney representing the reputed leader of the Uchence Wilson Gang on Thursday accused one of the main investigators of lying about his client having a gun and firing at the police when he was being arrested.During cross-examination in the ongoing anti-gang trial in the Home Circuit Court, Wilson’s lead attorney, Lloyd McFarlane, accused the police corporal of plotting with his colleague to lie about Wilson having a gun that day.

Farm Heights/Rose Heights community centre gets Labour

THE spirit of volunteerism was alive and well at Farm Heights/Rose Heights Community Centre in St James on Wednesday, Labour Day, where scores of people participated in the main parish project.From as early as 8:30 am, volunteers, including a team from the Jamaica Public Service Company (JPS), descended on the community centre, armed with their paintbrushes and other basic tools, where they began working.

Sandals Resorts improve child safety on Labour Day

SOME 200 volunteers from Sandals South Coast, worked together to paint a section of Carmel Basic School during Labour Day activities. Beaches and Grand Pineapple resorts participated in Labour Day activities on Thursday, painting and refurbishing a number of schools, with special emphasis on child safety.

UDC spruces up Denham Town Primary School
