FAQ Classified Adverts Help

How do I place a new advert?
Easy -- click the NewAd button near the top left of the page on the advert index page. You may need to register before you can post a new advert, depending on how the board moderators or administrators have configured the settings.

How do I edit or delete an advert?
Unless you are the board admin or forum moderator you can only edit or delete your own adverts. You can edit an advert by clicking the edit near the top right of the advert page.

How do I add pictures of my item? You have the option to add images to your advert once you have clicked the Create Ad button at the foot of the new advert page. Click the text marked 'Click Here to add some images' and then the Browse button on the following page. Navigate to the folder on your computer where your image is stored, click on the file, click Open, and finally click Upload Image. Wait for the image to be uploaded and it will appear beneath the Add Images box. You can add further images at this time up to the limit set by the board administrator by repeating this process. You do not have to add your images at the same time as you create your advert - they can be added at any time by clicking the Images button near the top right of the advert page.

How do I remove pictures from my item?
Go to your own advert page and click the Images button near the top right of the page. On this page you will be able to remove existing photos and/or add new ones.

I get an error message when I try to add pictures!
The most likely problem is that you have tried to upload a file that is larger than the maximum size allowed by the board administrator, or that you have accidentally attempted to upload a file that isnt in an image format. Check that your file is in either jpg or gif format and if necessary edit it with your graphics program to reduce its physical and/or file size.

How do I change the way a buyer would contact me?
A button to send an email directly to you is automatically added at the foot of your advert when you create it. You cannot change the email address that this button links to, which is set to the address you used when you registered your account. If you want to use a different method to have potential buyers contact you, give that information within the body of your advert.

My item has sold!
To prevent unwanted contact about your item after it has sold you can change its 'Status' to Sold. Click the Sold button in Ad status.

How do I remove my advert?
You can delete your advert by clicking the small X icon at the top right of your advert page which will remove both your post and any images you have uploaded to go with it. Your advert will automatically be removed after it 'expires'.
